It's only month 2, and already I am realizing how blessed I am to live in the US. Here are a few of the items I have a new appreciation for…

HOME:
completed houses (a lot of unfinished buildings here… just cement, missing walls, no roofs)
furniture (especially shelving units and couches)
          air conditioning and/or heating
          washing machines and dryers (!!!!!!)
          carpets
          electrical plugs
          internet

FOOD:
          chick-fil-a ('nough said)
          pizza
          fast food
          grocery stores
cheese (we only have squeaky cheese here… yes it actually squeaks. very bitter.
                    more curd than cheese)
          clean water (!!!!!)
knives (for eating… I have to use my fingers for everything)

BATHROOM:
toilet paper (and being able to actually throw it in the toilet!!)
hot showers (oh sigh, how I long for thee)
          lights
running water (we've had a couple bucket showers)
toilet seats (why do these not exist in Peru?!)
          shower curtains
          soap

SHOPPING:
          Target
          bug spray
          sunscreen

TRANSPORTATION:
Cars (specifically having an entire seat to yourself…. we fit 7 people in a compact car the other day.
                   was hysterical, but painful.)
