I greatly dislike being sticky. It’s annoying and not fun at all. Bubbles, are sticky. This is why I try to stay away from bubbles. Unfortunately, kids LOVE bubbles…
On June 1st, it was Kids Day. Not really sure what this meant except that no one had school. So, my team went with our contact and another American missionary to two of the programs the missionary works with. The first location we went to normally has 150 kids who go there Monday-Friday and the second location normally had about 300 kids. Since there was no school, both locations were having special programs and the normal 450 kids that came turned into a significantly larger number.
Right when we arrived we pulled out bubbles, face paint, and temporary tattoos. We didn’t need any more face painters and clearly I’m not a fan of bubbles so I grabbed the tattoos. Unfortunately, someone decided they wanted to take all our tattoos so we didn’t have enough for the second location.

The second location was about three times as big as the first. When we got there, the people who wanted to face paint grabbed the paints and I got handed a tube of bubbles. Wonderful. So I found a space off to the side and started blowing bubbles. After about half a second I was surrounded by little kids with the biggest smiles on their faces. Bubbles are just as sticky as I remember, but seeing how much joy they brought these kids made it completely worth it.
It’s funny how such a little thing like bubbles can bring such big smiles 🙂
Less than one month from my final deadline and I’m $150 away!
