First month. First country. After launch my team and I were prepared for tent living, bucket showers, no electricity…and then we found out we are living in a two story house with two other teams in San Juan, DR. It has beds, toilets, a shower (more or less), fans, and a kitchen so we get to make our own meals. It’s pretty crazy. But honestly, when I first heard this I was a little sad that I don’t get to rough it. But after a 17 hour travel day consisting of a 30 minute walk with my 44 pound backpack and my 10 pound day pack, a bus ride, a train ride, a shuttle ride, a delayed flight, sitting in a non exit row seat (I never realized how amazing it is to have a mom who always gets me an exit row seat), a four hour bus ride, and watching some of my squad mates ride off up a mountain in the dark while hanging onto the sides of a truck, I quickly realized I have ten more months to rough it. Right now, I’m going to be thankful for this amazing place and try my best not to get used to it because I’m pretty sure this is the most comfortable living I’m going to have.

The house I live in with 20 other World Racers (also the nicest housing I'll ever have)
We’re starting ministry today (January 14th) and I’m excited to share what happens with you! I’m also thankful for the $12,836 that I have raised thus far! I only $2,664 to be fully funded! It’s not too late to support me 🙂
