So then
you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow
citizens with the saints and members
of the household of God, built on the foundation of the apostles and
prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone, in whom the whole
structure, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the
Lord. In him you also are being built together into a dwelling place for God by the Spirit.
Ephesians
2:19

My extended Greek family has been going to the same condo
in South Myrtle Beach for the past 21 straight years. We have all made it every
single year, praise the Lord. From the time we were babies until now we have
been privileged to be able to all get together and spend one whole week with
one another next to the beautiful ocean!
Big Fat Greek Vacation… that is exactly what it is! Don’t
get me wrong I absolutely love my family, but lets just say that relaxation is
not in our vocabulary! Wouldn’t trade it for the world though! Twelve family
members…all with different gifts and different quirks. There were lots of
tears, arguments, and laughter and at the end of the week God reminded me of
how lucky I am to have a family so closely knitted that we would commit to each
other every year and NEVER ask questions.
Isn’t that what the family of God is like? Just on a
bigger scale? While it is hard for me to compare my extended Greek family to
the Family of God, God keeps reminding me that he has blessed me with a perfect
example of how this spiritual family should act and function.
1. We all come from different backgrounds and we all
bring different things to the table. That is what makes us unique (praise the
lord that everyone is NOT the same).
2. Whatever trials may happen, we are ALWAYS there for
each other.
We never leave.
3. We love without questioning.
4. No one or nothing can separate us or pull us a
part.
5. We all want the best for one another and for the
family.
I am not only lucky to have a physical example of what a
great family should look like, granted we do have our flaws, but I am extremely
blessed to know and be a part of a much bigger family; one, whose only goal is
to bring the Kingdom of God to this earth! Just remember that God’s family is a
PERFECT example of how a family should be.
Please pray that our team would continue to uplift and
encourage one another in this time of fundraising. Pray that God would open
doors for us to share our vision and would bring people in our lives that would
be on board with us. I can’t thank
you enough for everything! Thank you for consistently praying for the team and
I. God knows we need it!
Love. Love.
