Have you ever heard that saying, “I totally feel like I’m in my twenties. . . until I hang out with twenty year olds!”
Well, remember all that fear I talked about in my last blog? This is another way that worked itself out. . .
Going in to training camp I had done my fair share of blog stalking on my sQuad and as close as I could tell, I had a good 10 years on the next oldest racer! I was overcome with all kinds of thoughts…and fears (there’s that ugly word again!). What if I couldn’t keep up? What if I weighed them down? What if we had nothing in common? What if we couldn’t relate to each other?
Just as He always does, God showed up in big ways to remind me that He has everything under control and that all I have to do is sit back and trust. I know everyone thinks this, but let me assure you, I have THE best squad ever!! Time and again God used them to speak to me through words, actions, hugs and prayer. During the physical activities there was always someone “in the trenches” with me, encouraging me to more. . . I’m not 100% sure they even know how much of an impact that had. Watching my sQuad worship is by far one of the best worship experiences I’ve ever had! These are men and women who are sold out to God, who love Him with everything they have and it is awe inspiring to watch! Even in ordinary conversations, the wisdom that is present in my sQuad is far beyond anything I ever thought I would encounter before we even launch! However, the absolute BEST thing by far, is that my sQuad is a squad of prayer, not just any prayer though, powerful and bold prayer! I know that no matter what the next year holds, my sQuad will be praying for and with me in every up and every down. God is up to something big in our sQuad and I believe it is in part because of the amazing prayer warriors that make up Q sQuad! God truly hand selected the group of people I will spend the next year with and used them to remind me that indeed, age is just a number!
Now that I know these amazing men and women, I’m even more excited about the year ahead and all that God will do in and through us! You can be a part of this amazing journey by partnering with me in prayer or financially. My next financial deadline is fast approaching on December 19, currently I am about $3500 short of my $7500 goal. You can give financially by clicking the “Support Me” tab to the left of this blog.
Thank you to everyone who is on this adventure with me supporting me, encouraging me, praying for me and just loving on me! I seriously couldn’t do this without you!
“I thank my God always when I remember you in my prayers, because I hear of your love and of the faith that you have toward the Lord Jesus and for all the saints, and I pray that the sharing of your faith may become effective for the full knowledge of every good thing that is in us for the sake of Christ.” -Philemon 1:4-6
