“Don’t try to rush things that need time to grow.”
On June 17 2014 I found out that I was being given the opportunity of a lifetime, I was accepted to participate in The World Race, an 11 month 11 country mission trip! I was so excited to be able and be a part of the races first all Asia trip leaving in September. . . I was not excited about the crunched time frame I was now on. 3 weeks to hit my first funding deadline, a month and a half to hit the second. . . you get the idea, I had a LOT to do in a very small amount of time. Did I also mention that I learned very quickly that I’m much more of a “city” girl than I had ever realized and had NONE of the gear I’d need for my 11 month adventure?!
It was a tall order to say the least, but God provided amazingly in those first 3 weeks. Although I did not meet my first funding goal, I was blown away by what God did. In the midst of all the rushing to meet deadlines, I realized, as did AIM aka The World Race that September was just too much of a rush, God was moving but I wasn’t able to slow down and see it. Not how I wanted this experience to go. With that in mind, I’m delaying my launch from the September route to a January 2015 route. Although I am saddened about no longer being on the all Asia route, I know that God’s timing is perfect and that the extra time He is giving me to prepare, spiritually, physically, emotionally and financially for this adventure is a true gift and one that I am thankful for.
My new route still takes me to several Asian countries as well as allowing me to return to my first love, Africa! My new route includes the following countries:
