“Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons. Freely you received, freely give.” ~ Matthew10:8

As time approached for thanksgiving, the Racers decided instead of having the traditional American feast, they would put their money together and bless some of the people in their local African town they were staying at for the month. They met a couple young boys that were giving car washes. They talked to the little boys and found out that they had dropped out of school to help support their family and were giving these car washes in exchange for food. The Racers took these boys to a local shopping mall and bought them shoes (without shoes they were not allowed to shop there) along with other clothes, toys, and food. The Racers still had leftover money so they gave the rest to the little boys. As they were walking back, one of the Racers noticed that one of the boys had stopped. She turned around and saw him giving all of his money to a beggar on the road. Freely he was given, so freely he gave to others.

It is stories like these that have impacted me to want to be a part of the World Race. After meeting several people who had gone on the Race and hearing their stories, I saw not only how God used them to change other people’s lives, but how they came home transformed people as well. A friend recommended me to go on the Race when I was about 18. Being too young to go, I decided to pray and think about it. And now, after praying for years, I hear God’s call to go now more strongly than ever. Being accepted, I will be leaving January 7th, 2015 and come home December 2015. There is so much that goes into the Race, but some of the things I will be doing this coming year include working with: churches, schools, orphanages, and organizations to end human trafficking. This coming January, I will be working specifically with mentally handicapped kids (k-12) in Quito, Ecuador. But most importantly, building relationships with these people and representing Christ in all 11 countries.

I feel very humbled and blessed to play a small role in a ministry where God is going to do something big. And I would like to invite you to play a small role as well. I cannot fulfill this ministry alone. I have two goals before I leave for the Race:

Goal #1: Raise a Prayer Support Team. “praying at the same time for us as well, that God will open up to us a door for the word, so that we may speak forth the mystery of Christ, for which I have also been imprisoned;” ~ Col. 4:3. Considering I will be living out of a backpack, visiting multiple different cultures, and encountering day to day spiritual warfare, prayer is the most important thing for this trip. I am looking for committed prayer partners! If you would like more info on that, please e-mail me at: [email protected]

Goal #2: Fundraising= $16, 250 by July 1st 2015! This includes the costs of training, travel, lodging, food, and other necessities while abroad. That amount alone is slightly overwhelming, but I know I am called to go by a God who will provide. I need a community to go on this trip for both prayer and fundraising and would like to invite you to play a small role in being part of that community and building God’s Kingdom by supporting me on the Race. I will also be sending out updates during the Race through my blog: http://jenncashman.theworldrace.org/

I am currently at: $8, 170.00 of $16, 250 !! ( 50% fundraised)

Here are my final deadlines:

April 1st, 2015 – $11, 000

July 1st, 2015 – $16, 250

Thank you so much for your love, support, and prayers! I am so excited to see what God is going to do this coming year!
