Name: Walli

Age: 7

Occupation: selling flowers to men at bars in the red light district of Chiang Mai, Thailand

Before I left Thailand I made sure to see Walli one more time. I took Ami, her, and her brother out to their restaurant of choice… McDonalds. haha! As we were eating I felt that the right moment had finally come to ask the question that had been slowly burning on my heart.

“Ami, do you know who Jesus is?”

Without translation she knew exactly what I was saying. She answered in utter joy while lifting her hands to her heart and to the heavens. Yes, she knows Jesus and so do Walli and her brother. My eyes filled with tears at the sight and sound of this news. This little, precious princess who I had fallen in love with this past month knows who our Savior is! No words can even describe the heartwarming joy I felt in this moment. She is not only my “pisow” (sister) on this earth, but she is also my sister in Christ. Hallelujah!! In a city filled with darkness from Buddhist beliefs she is filled with light. Praise God!!

As I left Thailand I bawled my eyes out. I cried tears of joy, I cried tears of sadness, and I cried tears of hope. Still, to this very day, I pray for Walli and her family. For God’s mercy and blessings to pour out on them. I pray that God will return me to her one day and I pray that He will sustain her and provide for her in the dark environment she’s surrounded by. My biggest hope is that she will continuously be surrounded by individuals who encourage her and show her the love of Christ and not of this world.

Thank you for coming along side me as I shared Walli’s story with you. I openly invite you all to come along side me in prayer for this family if Walli’s story has touched your soul as it has mine. Christ Jesus, our ultimate healer and provider, will take care of her through the voice of our prayers. Let’s fight for this little girl together!!
