WOW!

I can not believe this is really happening! Well… a couple of things.

1. My first blog EVER
2. Being accepted to be a part of The World Race
and 3. This amazing journey that is ALREADY beginning and it's not even January

God is good all the time and all the time God is good! Last year I went on a missions trip to Haiti that forever changed my life. God wrecked me, emotionally, physically, and above all spiritually. He taught me to rely on Him and ONLY Him. I never knew and understood God's forgiveness and love until then. I never looked at myself as being worthy of his love. But little did I know that Haiti was only the beginning. Since then my life has taken some very interesting turns… ups and downs. All which have led me to here… THE WORLD RACE.

It's crazy, even today, to think of what The World Race truly means. I like lists, so I'm gonna map it out

Downsides (not really negatives…)
-Leaving my family and friends for almost an entire year = scares me A LOT
-Comfortability (environment, people, food, transportation, etc) is pretty much gone
-Having control, just control of where my life goes, is out of my hands
-Fundraising/Raising almost $16,000 in less than a year

It's all really scary to be honest. But here's the other side of things…

Upsides (YES POSITIVES)
-My family and friends LOVE me and support me more than I could ever ask for or imagine. God has truly blessed me with an amazing support team. They will be with me every step of the way! And I will be a part of a bran new family… my World Race Team. They will be there physically as my support team, my friends and family will be there in my heart.
-I am going to explore so many different and new environments that I may never get to see again in my life. I will be meeting so many amazing and interesting people that I will adore getting to know and love. I also will adapt (to food, transportation, customs, dress, etc) and try sooo many new things, which is very interesting for me cause I usually am very hesitate to do that.
-I will rely on God, no myself, to lead me. I will learn to trust COMPLETELY in God in these new situations. He has me in his hands… Always!
-Through fundraising I will be reaching out to a community of people who will become involved and a part of  this journey as much as I am. I hope to outreach to as many people as possible as this journey continues. This blog is the first step.

I can not begin to express the emotions going through me right now as I sit here in the "middle room" of my house in Kutztown, PA USA. I feel so grateful and blessed for this opportunity and can't wait to share it all with you.

A little tid bit to leave you all with. I always loved watching racer's videos on The World Race blog sites. Here is a video I made after my trip to Haiti. I think it's the perfect way to start out this bran new journey… enjoy 🙂
