I started to find myself in a routine. On the Race, comfort is not always easy to find like it is at home. But it can be found in certain ways that make you feel like you’re at home again in some way. Whether it’s watching your favorite TV show or indulging in comfort food, it can be easy to do when you have free time.

When you have a ministry schedule, it is easy to be “on” during scheduled ministry and then to enjoy your free time when you have “off.” Especially when as an introvert, I enjoy my down time; to simply pause from what is going on around me. That is how I process things and learn, by having the quiet space to reflect.

I asked God how I could live the adventure with Him everyday. I wanted to make the most of my time and not disengage from what was going on around me. I wanted to follow what God had for me. I wanted to say yes to God. I didn’t want to miss out on the opportunities or adventures that God had for me.

God was calling me to step out in adventure, to choose the adventure again. So I took to the streets to make the most of my “adventure day”, albeit on a budget and with not many hours of daylight left.

I was drawn to an ancient looking red building that looked beautiful. I saw it from across the street. I went inside and was told I had 3 different choices for coffee, so I ordered a cappuccino. It was beautiful inside too with a super high ceiling, stairways, and flowers everywhere, giving it a grand, picturesque feel.

Then I saw a painting of a feast table, a cornucopia, an abundance of fruit pouring over. It had tons of grapes and a gold canister. God is telling me, you are invited. You are invited to His table of abundance. You have a place at the table, the feast, God has been telling me this month through the amazing & legendary hospitality of our Chilean hosts.

Will you accept the invitation to the feast? You have a place at the table.

Coffee is brought to me. I look around. A train model sits on a dresser with flowers and a golden rose statue. I do a double take. A train?

I prayed this morning for a word or a picture and got “train,” I thought immediately of a train station. But I dismissed it just as fast, denying that it was God just because I attributed it to my own thoughts from a show I’d just seen.

But that’s how I’d asked God to speak to me. Through a word, a picture. From the stories I see and hear.

Why should I doubt that God is speaking to me? He is showing me this more and more that I am learning His voice and I can test His voice, but that He is my Shepherd, so I can know His voice and not doubt that He is teaching and guiding me.

I asked God to guide me on an adventure the other day too. God asked me if I would leave the train station. Would I travel to all these new places without leaving the train station? Or would I open myself to the adventure God was leading me on everyday?

Take away my fear, Lord, I pray. Make me brave. Let me leave the train station with you. Let me never stay in one place when I should be moving and experiencing more change and growth and freedom with you, Lord. Teach me to always walk the adventure with you.

“Risk is the currency of good adventure… You can count on feeling vulnerable and insecure. You can count on being out of your depth and in over your head. But the call to adventure is Spirit calling to spirit. Deep calling to deep. It is what you are made for.”    (A Trip Around the Sun-by Mark Batterson and Richard Foth.)

Then, God whispers to me.  This is just the beginning.

I am still about $3200 away from meeting my final goal to raise to be fully funded for the Race. If you feel led to help me meet this final goal, please give today by clicking the orange Donate tab at the top of the page or clicking here

For another way to help me on the Race, you can give towards my personal fund to meet expenses not covered by the Race by gifting my Paypal account at [email protected]

This will help me with extra personal expenses as well as travel expenses to return home when the Race is over and is a great way to make a big impact and contribute towards future adventures too. Thank you!
