We are in our third country, Month 3 of the World Race!
Welcome to Hope!
This is the first thing I saw as we drove up the mountain where we would be spending the month and teaching English at a school on top of a mountain. There’s a beautiful view every morning!
I am so thankful I get to be here. The people in Honduras are very friendly and welcoming.
It is amazing to get to enjoy the view at the mountain top. To pray. To think. To read. To reflect. To spend time with God. And to play with the children here. To get to teach on top of the mountain!
The other day, we told our life stories outside on top of the mountain. It was beautiful and refreshing to be outside. I enjoyed getting to learn more about my students. It’s a small school, so we all have very small classes. I am teaching the oldest group of students, from 7th to 9th grade. I have 5 students in my class.
It is great to get to learn about the culture here and to live in this beautiful place.
Thank you for getting me here to Honduras and walking on this journey with me!
2 Thessalonians 2:16- Now may our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God our Father, who loved us and gave us eternal comfort and good hope through grace.
I am reminded that life is meant to be lived in an intentional way. Everyday, we can make choices to grow. We can make choices to choose faith over fear. We can choose to take one step at a time to get closer to our goals and dreams.
On the Race, we only get to spend 1 month in each country. This month, we have gotten the privilege to work with the same group of children consistently and it is a joy to get to see them and teach them everyday.
Every day, we are all given a sunrise and a sunset. Will we show up for it? Will we take the opportunities given to us that get us closer to our goals, to our purpose in life? Will we choose love? Will we choose courage? Will we choose to trust God? Will we choose hope?
