A brief update after my hiatus from blogging.

I am excited to say I am still preparing and praying about The World Race!

As some of you may know, I have pushed back my departure date for when I will go on the World Race, mainly since I have committed to a new teaching job this year and did not feel it was fair to ask off the 10+plus days for training camp after I got the job and made the commitment to be there for the whole school year.

I am still going on The World Race, it is just a matter of when!

I am praying for confirmation on which route to go on and when to leave. It will be sometime in the next year or even as soon as 5 months.

I am happy to have you all alongside of me and would love to hear from you.

Today I was reminded of the blessings of being near family and friends. I enjoyed a nice time of having lunch and catching up with a girl friend. It is great when a friend understands and can relate to you and is such a blessing when they show support and encouragement. My friend was able to speak truth into my life and encourage me that it’s not all about what I can or cannot do. That I don’t have to be a super Christian to be a part of this World Race. But to keep trusting that God will do His work through this and that He will use me for His glory! This is my prayer, that I can shine for Him!

It was also such a joyful time to get to spend some quality time and have a blast with my brother, K! Being here in the country with my family is a blessing, and I don’t take it for granted, or at least I try not to! Being away for 2 years teaching English, I definitely know that it is hard to be away from family and friends and loved ones. That is why I am so glad I have this time now with them and I want to make the most of it! Please remember that all time is valuable and that time is short too.

Don’t wait until it’s too late to spend time with the ones who mean the most to you! Reach out to others and initiate plans! Show them that you care, even in small ways, because that matters too, and can go farther than you might think! Share your time with them. Encourage them with your words. Send a card. Surprise them with a gift or plan an activity. Share a meal or a coffee or tea. We are all made to be together and to be in relationship. It can lighten the darkest day or bring even more joy when it’s going well. Take the time to build your friendships. This requires brick-making, or lots of caring actions and kind words. This comes naturally and also requires planning and extra thought and care at times.

In the meantime, I am hoping to give you an update with more specific details shortly for the World Race. Please keep praying and commenting and follow my blog to ensure you get all the latest! Thank you so much for being there and listening and reading!

You all mean a lot to me and I thank you so much for your encouragement and for being there!
