10. I didn’t realize how dependant on my car I was until I
didn’t have it.
Right now there are 4 teams and 24
people living and serving together. As
of right now we have one 8 passenger van for transportation. God has provided us rides with locals from
housing to ministry but we haven’t been able to go anywhere else. I’m missing being able to come and go
whenever I want!
9. Praise, worship and prayer can last for hours.
My team has been blessed to be
able to join the Tauranga House of Prayer every morning from 8-noon. We just worship God and pray for anything and
everything. It’s so amazing that God
provided us this opportunity to join other believers in prayer daily. He is preparing us for what’s to come this
year.
8. A map of the world can weigh ½ a ton!
The Call2All conference will focus
a lot on finding your call and praying over the nations. They have a map of the world that is at least
half a football field. It’s HUGE and weighs
½ a ton! We had the opportunity to make
a undercover for it then roll out the map. It was neat to stand in each country we are visiting and know that God
has an exact purpose for us in that country. Can’t wait to see what it is!!
7. Eating on $3 per day is tough!
Typical days menu – Breakfast =
one serving of oatmeal which we jazz up with a little syrup and peanut butter
since we don’t have sugar. Lunch =
Peanut better and jam sandwich. Now we
are down to only peanut butter cause we used all the jam. We usually eat one big carrot or an apple
with lunch. Dinner = one day we had stir
fry rice with chicken and mixed veggies, another day it was spaghetti with
tomato sauce and steamed carrots, and another day it chicken sandwich with the
left over chicken from the stir fry. Not
a lot of food for someone who is used to large portions and eating a lot of
processed and fired foods. I miss salt,
pepper and sugar!!
6. Driving on the left side of the road isn’t as hard as it
seems.
The keys to the van we have to use
were just handed to us so we have to take turns driving. And I got to drive!!! It was awesome and crazy driving on the left
side of the road. Everyone in my van
said they felt really safe with me. I do
miss my GPS though!
