As you can see I’m only $555 away from being fully funded
for the trip and only $2,255 away from having enough money to cover my
vaccinations, medical insurance and domestic flights as well.
I’m so grateful for what God has been doing through my
preparations for this trip! I have two
HUGE answers to prayer that I would like to share with you.
First, a couple of weeks ago I chipped my front tooth eating
brussels sprouts. (Can you believe it! Another
reason I don’t like veggies!) Because it
was chipped while eating something that should not have chipped it I was
worried and decided to get it checked out.
My dentist told me that there were 6 cracks in the front and
4 cracks in the back of that tooth. He
said I needed a crown. After insurance
it was going to cost $834!! I freaked
out because I was sav
ing my money to pay the fees required to break my
apartment lease (more on that in a second). I started praying about it and that night I happened to share the need
with the young adult pastor at my church. Instantly he said, “I think we might have people in the church who
donates services like that to missionaries we support. Let me find out!” PRAISE GOD!! The next day I emailed the Global outreach director and within a couple
of days I had a dentist appointment! God
provided for my needs through North Metro Church! I’m so glad I worship at a church that
supports missions!
The second huge answer to prayer has to do with my apartment
lease. I signed my lease in April and
I’m moving out on October 16th, therefore I’m breaking
my
lease. When I knew that I had to break
my lease I inquired about the fees involved. I thought I would have to pay one extra month’s rent and that is
all. However, I soon found out that I
would have to also pay back the concession fees. Which in my case added up to $1,695 plus the
extra month at market rate of $870. I’ve
known about these fees for a couple of months and have been saving as much as
possible in order to pay them, but I was still worried. I had talked to my apartment complex a couple of times and they told me there was nothing they could do. I had to pay them. Then one Friday I went in after work and
talked to Matt. He is a Christian and
said he wanted to help, but couldn’t make a decision about lowering the
fees. He suggested I meet with the
complex manager, Bennie. A couple days
later Matt and I met with Bennie and he spoke on my behalf to her. She looked at my records and said she would
decrease the concession fees by $1,020!! I only have to pay back a free month that I received and an extra month
in the end both at my current rate, not market rate!! PRAISE GOD!!
Thank you so much for your prayers and support! God is so good! Please continue to pray for me as I prepare
to leave on the World Race in 3 months!
If you would like to help me reach my fundraising goal,
please “support me”. If
you want to send a check email me and I will give you instructions on how to do
that. My email address is

“Epic” is how officials are describing the floods
that hit metro Atlanta last week. According to the U.S. Geological Survey
(USGS), the floods were a “once in 500 years flood,” meaning the odds
of such a thing happening are less “than 0.2 percent in any given year.”
God once again protected me. I live and work in a part of Marietta that had no damage.

On
October 16th I’m moving out of my
apartment. That same day I’m leaving for
a 10 day training camp for The World Race. When I return to Marietta on October 25th I will live with my
friend Melissa until I move home on November 8th to live with my
parents in Oklahoma. Since I’m living
out of a backpack for a year, I don’t need to keep most of my things. When I got accepted on The World Race, God
placed it in my heart that I needed to give my stuff away instead of sale it. I wasn’t sure which charity to give it to and
how to make sure the right people received it, then the flood hit metro
Atlanta. My church is partnering with a
local charity to collect items for flood victim relief. Some people lost everything in their house so
my apartment full of things will be used by those who desperately need it.
