Answered Prayers

It seems unbelievable to me how time
can fly. We have been in Africa now for a
month and it has been two weeks since our stay in Nsoko, working with the
ministries there.

When we first arrived to Nsoko we took
that Friday to visit all of the care points in the area. The trip took us to
six different care centers. Most of them
are open to feed, teach (pk-kindergarten age) and take care of the medical and
physical needs of the community, especially the children. The majority of them have twenty to thirty
children daily that they take care of. And all of them are volunteered run.
This is a community who works together!

The day was such an eye opener, and we
were all in deep consideration and prayer on where we felt we were led to work
at for the next three weeks. For me
there were at least two centers that were impressed upon my heart. Over the
course of the next few days it was amazing to see how God worked in all of us
to give us the specific centers that He wanted us to be at. It worked out perfectly that exactly two
people were led to be at each care point. Answered prayer.

For me it ended up being the village at
the base of the mountian, Ematshemhlophe. Something about seeing the big crowd
of women, some children and men sprinkled around the base of the care center
emerged into a life of extreme poverty and lack of water tugged at my heart
strings.

It is a pretty neat place, with South Africa about an hours walk over the
mountain and Mozambique
around the bend. The mountains are beautiful and the land surrounding the
mountain, miles away are green and plentiful. Unfortunately, the land there is
dry and crops are not something to rely on. “Many go without food for months”
Pastor Gift said after we drove away from our initial view of the care point.

My partner in crime for the next few
weeks, Aaron, held the same burden for the area. We were struck to the core on
the struggle they have to get water on a daily basis. So with daily prayer, and
our hearts in agony over this land, we both felt burdened to find a solution
for the water supply.

How amazing to know that through
Aaron’s church, a group of young teens have started a non-profit organization
to provide water solutions for third world rural communities. And here we are
needing a well in a third world country! Answered prayer.

Yesterday, we received a phone call
from one of the gals at the care point saying that they are out of water. This
area has been promised for years that the problem would be fixed and that a
steady supply of water would soon flow throughout the land. There are so many empty promises and results.

The “money is there”, Aaron said about
the ministry back home. The organization was found, the money is available, but
the process itself is still a little unknown. Getting the logistics and money
sent could get complicated.

This is what this mountain village has
been waiting for, a solution to the problem that could bring hope. There have
been so many answered prayers thus far! But the final answer is still in the
air. I know that we are to be Jesus in the flesh and be His hands and feet. This is the way that we could do something tangible so that they would know that God is truly alive and wants to supply for their needs. Please pray for this process and solution to this prayer. The hope and
survival of these people rest on this answered
prayer
.
