So in my few days of being in Thailand I have learned some of the ins and outs of Thai life. I thought I’d share with you some of the dos and don’t s of Thai customs and living.

The Do’s

The Don’ts

Do… eat the fruit on the side street vendors—very delicious and cheap!

Do… Bring toilet paper everywhere! You don’t want to use the spray down or shake method!

Do…Use the internet cafes…there everywhere and are extremely cheap…it helps with homesickness to communicate.

Do…Smile and speak to the Thai people they are quite friendly and responsive to broken Thai… un like our fellow French men 😉

Do…show respect to the King and Queen. Thai people uphold them at a high esteem. Their pictures and memorabilia are everywhere!

Do…ride the tuk tuk they are a glorified three seater motor system. Smooth and fast!

Do…Get a Thai massage. It is amazing!—tons of kneading, stretching, TLC to your body and all for a low price of $7.50/hr or so.

Do …learn how to use the squatty potty. Face it..squat..and aim. It makes life much easier on your pants when you conquer it right away.

Do..take off your shoes, everywhere! Businessess, homes, restaurants.

Do take the time to checkout the awesome pictures at the bottom. Enjoy!

Don’t… be afraid of the street vendors. They look shady but offer cheap tasty hot food. I haven’t got sick yet 😉

Don’t…put toilet paper down the toilet —it may clog it, throw it in the wastebasket.

Don’t…get sucked into the life of internet “gaming” just because every Thai person is doing it! Just say no.

Don’t…walk on the right hand side of the street…come on were not in the U.S. anymore!

Don’t …touch or reach over the tops of peoples’ heads. It is ill-reverent since the head is considered the most sacred part of the body.

Don’t… point, show the bottoms of your feet or pick up anything with “the lowest” part of the body. Its’ highly offensive!

Don’t…go to a shady massage place if you’re a guy…the workers there may be a little “too” friendly. Upscale places are highly recommended!

Don’t…pass up the opportunity to visit the Temples. It gives you more insight to the Thai peoples’ lives. It’s also a great opportunity to pray over the Temple areas for the truth of Christ to be revealed.

Don’t… Forget to checkout my blog and my teammates. We are trying hard to offer insight on what we are doing.
