I Could Really Use Your Prayers Right Now!
I just started working as a caretaker about a week ago and my first client is a 91 year-old man who is unsaved and his health is fading fast. He is currently on hospice care, and the nurses have come in more regularly over the past few days. I can't go in to detail about his health problems because of legal confidentiality, but I will just say that he is practically bedridden now and it doesn't look good. He could soon pass away in the next few days.
I am praying that God will do a miracle in his life and give his body complete restoration and healing. I am also praying that Jesus will radically encounter him and become his Lord and Savior. He has walked this earth for almost an entire century without knowing the saving grace and redeeming love of Jesus Christ. The situation keeps taking me back to the story of the thief on the cross who said to Jesus mere hours before his death, "Remember me when you come into your kingdom." This simple declaration moved Jesus' heart with compassion to respond, "Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise."
All Jesus wants is for people to bow their knee to His will and confess with their tongue that He is Lord. His hand is not too short to save and His heart is not too weak to love! Even in the 11th hour when all seems to be lost and that the enemy has won, the Lord breaks in, restores hope, and mends relationships. So I plead with you to pray with me and intercede on behalf of this lost and broken man, asking the Lord to reveal Himself as the only means for salvation and the only remedy for restoration.
I thank you so much for your support, your prayers, and your love. Without you, the Holy Spirit, and the prayers of the saints, I would be just as weak and frail spiritually as this elderly man is physically. So let's be the Church that the Bridegroom cherishes, and rise up to do what we do best, love others as Christ has loved us! Let us move His heart to have compassion yet again, so that He may save, restore, and bring another lost sheep into the Kingdom!
Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.
And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins,
he will be forgiven. Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another,
that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working." (James 5:13-16)
