My Expectations
- To shine the light of Christ in the darkest places
- To be a part of the greater works that Jesus proclaimed His Bride, the Church would do (John 14:12-14)
- To find Jesus among the hungry, the thirsty, the naked, the sick, the estranged, and the imprisoned
- To give up the American Dream and pursue Christ's Reality
- To encounter the unknown, embrace the unloved, engage the unseen, and enjoy the unfamiliar
- To profess the Gospel of Grace, broadcast the Message of Mercy, and trumpet the Call of Justice
- To reveal the Son of God, manifest the Glory of God, and implore the Spirit of God
- To see the lame walk, hear the mute speak, witness the deaf hear, and watch the blind see
- To lose myself, love others, and live for Christ
- To praise and worship Jesus in languages I cannot even comprehend
- To delight in foods I've never tasted
- To make a fool of myself because I forget the local customs
- To be brought low and be lifted up
- To lean on the Lord, listen to His voice, and trust on His direction
- To bring good news to the poor, bind up the brokenhearted, and proclaim liberty to the captives
- To have my heart break for the lost, the neglected, and the afflicted
- To have raw, authentic community
- To carry others' burdens and have others carry mine
- To die to myself and be stripped bare
- To be sanctified and to sacrifice
- To take part in divine encounters
- To illustrate God's love, demonstrate God's compassion, and discover God's sovereignty
- To authenticate the power of prayer, exhibit the heart of worship, and testify to the work of angels
- To expose the enemy and take back dominion
- To advance God's kingdom and declare the year of the Lord's favor
"The creation waits in eager expectation for the sons of God to be revealed." (Rom. 8:19)
