Today marks our first week in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico! the first day we got here God made it evident that His plan for us was different than the plan we had for ourselves. We got off the plane, and we were on the bus headed to our first ministry location when our ministry contact called and told us that last minute he could not accommodate as many people as he thought. He told us he had a friend in another part of Puerto Rico that could possibly house all of us. We drove around Puerto Rico all day that day waiting for a phone call and finally it came! We were on our way to Mayaguez, Puerto Rico! We have been here for one week and God has blessed us so much already. Here we came to serve and to be a blessing but God wanted to fill us up and bless us first. We didn’t have transportation to the ministry site so we were stranded here at this beautiful ministry retreat center where we were able to bond together and fill up spiritually. Our host has been absolutely an angel sent from heaven to take care of us and make sure that our every need is met. We have met so many of the locals here and have learned so much already. The most amazing thing about it all is that because our location was changed one of our team leaders had a friend that had a ministry contact in Puerto Rico that was very near to where we are staying now. We were able to meet up with him and his leaders from church and have some wonderful times of worship and fellowship together. Because of this change of location, we have made friends with people who now want to be future ministry contacts for future World Racers. We are the first squad to go to Puerto Rico and we have paved the way for others to follow where we have left our mark. Every new contact we have made here has said that we are now family and they want to be a part of our ministry. We have had the honor and privilege of connecting with many pastors and youth pastors in the area-men and women of God the Lord intended for us to find! Yesterday we were able to serve our host Ruben, by doing some outdoor refurbishing work around the house. Today we were able to go to a local school and do some manual labor and construction work wherever they needed us. We have been beyond blessed to be here and I cannot wait to see what else the Lord has in store for us. Tomorrow we leave for Arecibo, Puerto Rico. We will meet our new ministry contact at a local church there and serve wherever we are needed. We have not had WiFi here, so I have written this entire blog on my phone. I am sorry if there are any mistakes and I hope to write another one next week hopefully on a laptop! Haha! Thank you everyone for all of your prayers and support! I couldn’t be on this journey without you!
