This was a blog post i wrote a while ago, I am still scratching my head as to why i never posted it.
Part 2 of how God is the ultimate provider
> ” I was in the middle of a concrete pour and my only employee walked off site…”
This last week had been kinda crazy, I have seen God work in so many ways its hard to think how anyone could never believe that He exists. I am sitting here in awe in how God provides for everyone.
I needed a reminder about this as well as everyone on my team it seems. I posted a post about how my immunizations were going to cost $1685, right away I was put in my spot, Shelby said this:
> “Good thing God’s bank account is limitless, eh?”
This is exactly what I needed to hear, God’s bank account is limitless. He will provide the nessicary funds that I need plus more. He will provide everyone the monies we need if we only put our complete trust into him.
For my team we received an email on July 31 stating that we had that day and that day only to make a decision on which insurance we wanted to buy for our World Race trip. The options were:
1. Old Insurance what every other racer before us used (unless they had their own). Which costs about $300, but we were not able to use our fund-raising money for it. That came out of our pocket.
2. New Insurance which has better benefits and coverage then the old insurance. Cost – $785 which is an extra on top of our $15,500, but we can fund raise for it and we don’t have to come up with the cost right away.
Lots of people on my team started to panic and the talk about how can its already hard to raise the $15,000 and what not. This was another cause to remind evreryone that God will provide, do not panic, put your faith and trust into Him.
I didn’t see it right away, when you look back at the past week, its then you realize how everything played out, kinda like hindsight is 20/20.
It started when I was hanging out at Curtis’ place for dinner. Curtis told me the story of his sisters boyfriend Nic.
Nic owns a concrete business, he does residential concrete meaning, driveways, sidewalks, garage pads and the like. His business is growing and getting quite busy which is a Godsend. Nic has one employee who helps him out, plus friends and family how help out whenever they can. His main employee went on vacation so Nic had to hire someone for a couple pours this last week. The story goes that Nic went to his truck to grab something (this is in the middle of a pour). When he came back his new employee had walked off site, he quit without telling Nic in the middle of a concrete pour. Nic was now by himself, frustrated and about ready to fold his company.
A few moments later this guy walks on by, sees Nic working by himself and comments to him
> “a one man show eh?”
> “My employee just walked off site” replied Nic
> the walker by “I don’t have anything to do this afternoon, I can help you out”
A complete stranger just walking by saves Nic’s concrete pour! Talk about an amazing God, I was speechless after this story. When do you ever hear about stories like this? I never heard a story like this happening to someone I know.
The one thing that kept popping in my head was “holy crap… God is frikin’ incredible,” probably not the best way to exclaim that but thats what went through my head.
