On this day, people normally focus on things like family dinner (wait, is the house spotless? I don’t wat everyone to think I keep a messy house!), putting up the Christmas tree (wait, where’ stat little green extension cord that blends in with the tree so well?), and last, but not least, America’s favorite thing to do tomorrow (oh, wait, it’s today now) Black Friday shopping…when we run over each other to save a little bit of money on a new big screen tv, laptop, the newest favorite kid toys, or whatever we are after.

But let me challenge you with this: what are you THANKFUL for on THANKSgiving?

i am thankful for my family (even though we tend to not get along the best over the years)

i am thankful for my friends

i am thankful for the people throughout my life who have helped me through hard times

i am thankful for my job (even though it is crazy this time of year)

i am thankful for my coworkers that helped me when I was first starting my job

but most of all, i am thankful for God’s love and that He sent His Son to die for all of us! I’m thankful that He has guided and protected me through life as I have battled against His will, each time realizing it was a mistake. I’m thankful for the people He has put in my life for various reasons. I’m thankful for the good times, and the hard times because both have made me who I am today!

Next year, I will be on the race for Thanksgiving. I won’t have the family dinner at my parents house, I won’t have the Black Friday shopping, I won’t have the Macy’s Thanksgiving parade. But do you know what I will have? I will have the opportunity to share with the world the love of God! And I will have my squad mates there as we support each other in what will be the third month of our World Race!

But none of this will even be possible without the support of my friends and family, so I ask that as you pray for me and all the other racers, that you also prayerfully consider partnering with me financially in the World Race. If for the next 11 months, 50 people partner with me at $30 a month (or just $1 a day), I will be fully funded before I leave. But every dollar makes a difference. I am thankful for any support that you feel lead to give. My support letters will be in the mail soon, but that doesn’t mean you can’t give now!
