Church can look like an abandoned building. Church can look like a 10’x10’ room with newspapers atop some cinderblocks for chairs. Church can look like 17 people in a small Gypsy village, gathering together each week to hear the gospel from a Bulgarian pastor who drives 40 km one way to share it. Vinco knows Jesus loves these Gypsies, even when the majority of the Bulgarian population has harsher opinions about them. Vinco is giving his time and effort to start a church in this town for the glory of God and is being a true disciple to all people, and he’s doing it right outside of his home town. You don’t need to travel to be a missionary. It’s a state of mind and a willing to do attitude that is needed right in your home town and neighboring citites. To me these outcasts were happy people, full of joy, thought highly of family and sticking together. They were crying out for a savior, while still trying to hold on to traditions and customs of their people. Jesus has a great plan for them in Stavertsi, Bulgaria. Vinco is answering Gods calling and doing everything he can to make church happen in this village and share the gospel to all it will reach. This is what church can look like. In a small Gypsy village of Stavertsi, Bulgaria this IS what church looks like. This is what Love looks like.
