It’s month 10 and Team NEW Life is in Draganesti, Romania! It’s been such a blessing to be here so far. From the moment we stepped out of the airport we noticed many differences from the countries we have been to in the past 6 months. First off, we were standing in a parking garage that in itself was exciting for us! Second, all of our giant backpacks fit in the back of the van with out a single problem. There was actually extra space! Third, when we got into the van we all had a little bit of space to move around in our seats;unlike previous countries where we were stuffed like sardines into itty bitty cars.

Another precious gem that has caught my eye are trash cans they are every where! Never in my life did i think i would be so happy to see trash cans! I don’t think i’ve seen a trash can since December, seriously. During our time in the past 5 countries we’ve thrown our trash on the floor, down a hole, out the car window, or into a giant pile in the back yard. It was really hard to walk past rivers or lakes filled with trash. The trash in the water obviously is breeding ground for mosquitos and many diseases. IT also depletes the water sources. In India there was an area where so much trash was dumped that it seeped into the groundwater. This caused it to be impossible to pump clean water via wells and clean water is already difficult to get as it is.

Sometimes we forget how blessed we are in the U.S. and we over look the little things, such as a trash can.
