Team Segullah is now in Kapenguria, Kenya!! It’s amazing here. We are living with Pastor Siokan and his family. It was really hard to leave Rwanda, but again God has blessed us so much here. We don’t have running water or electricity, but I’m ok with that. I think their little house is absolutely beautiful. I wake up to the rooster crowing at 5 am and hens clucking.
It’s crazy how much my perspective has changed since being on the race. I find myself comparing squatty potties and thinking “wow this is a niiice squatty potty….there’s actually toilet paper in it, praise God!” As opposed to the first months were I thought “gross, i have to go to the bathroom in that??…how do you flush it??”
This month we’re preaching again and having fellowships with local people. We also help out at the local primary and secondary schools and we do jail visits. Everyone is really open about the gospel. Yesterday we had lunch at Kristine’s house (she’s a woman that goes to our church). She invited a bunch f people into her little mud house. One man, Simon, was a Muslim. He came into the house drunk (we could smell the alchol on him). After a while KRistine decided she wanted to worship before we left so she busted out her little tribal drum and began to sing. It was such an amazing sight to see, i wish i brought my camera!! After that Simon said he wanted to receive Christ into his life so we prayed for him. There was some doubt that he was serious about it because he was drunk, but it was amazing to see God really touch his heart. He began to sob uncontrollably and Kristine kept telling him that Jesus loved him. We had another fellowship to attend so we prayed for Simon again and then left. I was so surprised to arrive at the next house and see everyone that was at Kristine’s house already there!! I was like “Daang they walk fast!” lol. Anyways when I said hi to Simon again he no longer smelled like alcohol and I was positive that he was 100% sober. He was smiling, no stumbling over his words and was filled with joy. It was an amazing sight!! In addition to that we had prayed for a woman with stomach pains and she was healed from it right then!! Seriously, this blog does not do justice to the events that happened yesterday. I wish you all were there to witness what happened.
We’re just getting started this month and I’m so excited to see what God has in store for us.
PS. I received the questions that some of you guys emailed to me. i did not forget about them. I’m still working on answering them and I will post some answers probably next month. I’ll try and incorporate answers into my other blogs. PLEase keep us in your prayers!!
