Hi everyone!! I’m currently in Penang, Malaysia right now. This month’s ministry has been so incredibly different from last months, but, again, that’s the World Race for you. I’ll tell you more about it in my next blog.
As most of you may know I had to fundraise ( we call it “support raise” ) in order to go to these 11 countries and serve the people. It was definitely a humbling experience to go out and ask people I knew and people I didn’t know to support my cause. However, in the long run I figured a little humiliation is so worth being able to provide food, quality conversations and the love of Christ to those that have been considered worthless or kicked to the side.
When I got accpeted on the World Race January 2010 I had 9 months to raise at least $5000 (that’s the minimum needed to launch in September). I raised about $2,500 by August. I remember praying everyday that God would fully fund me before launch.I even went out and asked random strangers to pray for me (and they said yes thye would!). Of course, there were many that doubted, but deep in my heart I knew the World Race was where I was suppose to be.
Well, to make a long story short. It was, Sunday, the day before launch and I had $4,000 raised (they had to lower the minimum for me so I could launch). I walk out of my church that day FULLY FUNDED! The Lord did not just provide what I needed, but he provided an abundance! I had people hand me money that wanted to sow into my life specifically, it was amazing! As John 10:10 says, Jesus came that we may have an abundant life!
Just, in case you were wondering I had to raise a total of $14,300. Our God is an awesome God. He is a God that provides. Fully funded in one day! Thank you to all my supporters and for all your prayers! You all play a major part in helping those around the world.
Right now I have a close friend who is still raising funds. Her name is Tiffany Irons. She is an awesome woman of God who has helped me through tough times. I’ve know her for 5 years and she has a genuine heart to serve others… The deadline for her to raise funds is sometime in December and she needs $3000 to reach that deadline.
