Oh Snap! Sometimes I’m really bad at addressing some questions/concerns. Grab some coffee or tea and get comfy!
Let’s start with some Lingo.
ROUTE— The countries that we are going to be going to are: Lesotho, Swaziland, South Africa, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Jamaica, Haiti, The Dominican Republic. At this time I don’t actually know the cities, just these countries. Of course these can change so nothing is set.
SQUAD— 55 other racers going to the same countries as myself! We are fourth generation J Squad! Follow our journey on instagram #journeyofj You can visit their blogs to the left where it says meet my squad. They’re a pretty good looking bunch so try not to fall in love with all of them.
TEAM— We are split up into 8 different teams with very interesting team names. We will be living in this small community for the first few months and doing ministry together. My team is “Still Rising” #noceilings. We’re pretty awesome and I’m unbiased when I say we’re probably the best team. Again completely unbiased.
MINISTRY— I get the question, “so what are you going to be doing?”, a lot. Ministry will look different from month to month. Currently I can give you the answer, we will be doing whatever the Lord calls us to do. This could be playing with kids, sitting with the homeless, shoveling poop, whatever advances the kingdom, man!
What are you excited about?— Well I was asked, chosen, we could even say forced (jk, there wasn’t a TON of force) to be an UNSUNG HERO COORDINATOR. The UHC is all about talking to people, listening to the Holy Spirit and being obedient. So me, yeah? It is!! I love people. I am so excited about learning to listen more and learning to be more obedient!! Also I’m really excited about learning to live with 6 other women! When I say excited I also mean terrified, anxious, deathly afraid. Ya know, all the good feels 🙂
Are you scared?— Nah. I’m pretty pumped. In all honesty I’m more scared of leaving my mom and brother. I’ve been the joy of their life for so long, they’re gonna be real lonely without me. Someone check in on them please and thank you!
When do you leave? — No idea! haha. I am going to be in Georgia on August 4th for more training! So anytime after then I will probably be on the road, or in the sky because you can’t drive to Africa.
