Hello everyone,
Well it seems my name is Jarred McKinney and here is a little information about myself. I am the middle child of three boys who were all born in the suburbs of Birmingham, Alabama. I grew up pretty close to my extended family, with my grandparents living a few houses up the road and my cousins as their next door neighbors. From a young age soccer was my passion, carrying me all the way to Bristol, Tennessee to play in college. While that is no longer something I take part in, it brought me to the mountains and I fell in love with them, so I stayed. I am in my senior year of college majoring in History with a minor in Biblical Studies, which my brothers tell me is the fast track to unemployment. So it goes.
I have many things that I enjoy doing in this wonderful place. I love backpacking (one day I hope to hike the entire Appalachian Trail) and go whenever my school work permits. Since I cannot always be hiking around in God’s beautiful creation, I also enjoy cycling, although I am not very good at it. Books are another one of my favorite things. My favorite book is called The Secret History, I recommend it to all. Another little thing about me is that I am pretty much always listening to music. My favorite bands include Daughter, Of Monsters and Men, The Great Lake Swimmers, Gregory Alan Isakov, Lord Huron and Bob Dylan among others that temporarily slip my memory. With sports having been a big part of my childhood I am both an Alabama football fan as well as an Arsenal Fan (English Soccer).
While I am certainly not the most talkative person on this planet, I love being asked questions. Thanks to all who are praying for and supporting me in this great adventure!
