Dear You!
This is Jared Yoder. I live in Syracuse, Indiana. I’ve been attending school in Kissimmee, Florida at Johnson University Florida. I’m majoring in Cross Cultural Ministries to become a missionary to the poor and impoverished. My desire is to spread the hope of Jesus Christ to not just America, but also to those throughout the globe that have no idea who he is or what he’s done. Over the past years, the Lord has started opening my eyes to the atrocities that are being performed to countless individuals.
In 2010 I interned for a month with Apache Youth Ministries on the Apache reservation in Whiteriver, Arizona. While I was there, I worked with the children’s, middle and high school ministries. This was when the hurt and brokenness that is prevalent in our world started being made aware to me. Just being there and seeing the need of the children really put a desire in my heart to spread the love of Christ. Witnessing first hand the joy that love brought to these kids that they would not always be getting at home, it made me want to do this for a living, it set me after God more than I had possibly imagined.
This new found passion for the broken and hurting came into fruition when, a year later, someone told me about the World Race. This trip seemed to me, to be the perfect way to show the love God had shown me to the world. The World Race is an 11 month Christian Mission trip to 11 countries around the world put on by the non-profit, Adventures in Missions. We will be spending a month in each country. I will be leaving in July of 2014 and my countries are: Albania, Romania, Turkey, Bulgaria, South Africa, Swaziland, Botswana, India, Nepal, Mongolia and China. In all these countries, we partner with ministries anywhere from planting churches, preaching, working in orphanages, ministering to women and children trapped in prostitution and sex trafficking to many more ways.
The reason I’m writing this letter is that unfortunately there are costs that need to be covered. And I need help covering them. One way you can help is first, by praying for me and my team as we travel, and plan to travel. There are many challenges that we are facing and are preparing to face and we will not be able to overcome them without prayer. The second way to help is by giving monetarily. The total cost of my trip minus my gear, is $16,273. The cost covers most of my field expenses for the 11 months of the trip. As I take this large step of faith in Gods providence, I ask that you prayerfully consider joining me in this endeavor set before me. The Lord will use this trip to further grow me in trust with Him, and in spreading the good news he has that everyone needs to hear. My blog has a link that you can click to donate to this on the right side entitled “support me!”
I want to thank you in advance for the Tax Deductible donations that you give, and express my deepest gratitude at allowing me to further the kingdom of God. I will have a blog before, during, and probably after my trip so you can follow my activities and become part of my trip with me. Although you will not be there on the field with me, you will experience what I experience through my blog, and I pray that God will show you new ways to glorify Him through my writings. We are a church, and we must come together as one body if we are to spread the Glory of the Lord to the world.
As I finish this letter I just want to add a passage from 2 Corinthians 9:6-8. “Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.”
Thank you again for everything, and God Bless,
Jared Yoder
