Early last week, one of our translators asked us if we would wanna go dance and do ministry. At the time we where eating mexican food so I created mental images of a salsa like dancing place that would just be fun. I skipped that night going back home to call home to friends and family when I had the chance since it hasn’t happened much for awhile now. The next night me and some others went back. We walk up to the front door with security guards patting everyone down, a Lamborghini parked in front. Could easily hear the music outside. We go though security and walk into one of Cambodia’s most insane night clubs. Several DJ's up on stage. Lasers, fog, strobes, black lights, people everywhere.

Most people would be in shock of Christians or missionaries going into such a place. There is drinking, smoking, prostitutes, dancing, club music, lady boys, and the men buying them. Here is what I have learned though, why do we look down on christians in these places? Sure if we are going and sinning in these places its a different story, BUT why should we avoid these places? I have been wrecked over this lately. The reality of the club is this, people go there searching for something, because they have a void. They are desperate to find the love of the Father cause at the end of the day thats what they are looking for if they realize it or not.

You can easily go into this club and see a drunk, a prostitute, a pimp, a druggy, a lady boy or a homosexual. What if instead you walked in that club and only seen the Sons and Daughters of God. Because that is who they are. One revelation I'v been hit with is this, the world brings us all down, the world can tell us what we do wrong or who we are not. It takes the children of God filled with the Holy Spirit to pull the GOLD out of them. To tell them who they truly are to tell them they are beloved sons and daughters. That they have a father who loves them so much He didn’t wait for them to come find him. Instead He sent someone to this club this night to encounter them. Our job is not to bring them down our job is to reconcile the relationship with the Father.

After this revelation, we went back we went back every night. Even though ministry was over, because people there wanted to hear the gospel. Michael and I learned sharing the gospel Is not at all what we thought it was. We started going and having these dance battles of sorts with people in this club. Night after night we ended up having these dance off's with a guy and girl from Sweden. This got us “in” so to speak, we became friends though it. So they started to recognize me night after night and of course our dance battles got more serious but to me this only meant I'm getting closer to being able to share with them.

One night I got to sit in the VIP area with a DJ from Liver Pool who travels DJ'ing in clubs and setting up drag shows. In that moment I could have done what many people do and have done, this is shun him or tell him what is wrong with what he does. All that would do is shut him down though, instead why not just love him? Regardless what he is doing he is still a Son of the God who is beloved. Night after night people did not just listen to the gospel but they asked questions! They came to this place to party to drink to live in sin, but they desired to hear what we had to say. Don't ever allow the church to be confined to a building full of christians. Instead go and bring God's furious love to the darkest of places. Because in that dark night club with loud music His love penetrated all barriers His love was striking the hearts of the sons and daughters of light. His love over powers all else, when we simple love, not loving with expectations. Just simply loving people where they are.

To be countined…
