Ok, definitely not the most comfortable thing to write about, but I figure I would put this info out there for all the ladies on the team, in case anyone wanted alternatives to packing 11 months worth of tampons.

Yeah, it’s one of THOSE blogs. : )
So, I know a couple of us talked about this at camp, so for the rest of you who weren’t in the convo, here’s the information in case you wanted to know.

This is about the Diva Cup.
If you don’t know what that is, it’s a silicon “cup” that takes the place of a tampon and is reusable, it just has to be washed after each use. Ok, I know it sounds crazy disgusting, but it’s actually not that bad. My sister got it for me for my birthday ( I know great present right? lol) and I had it laying around for like 3 months before I finally got the courage to try it.
So, I got it and tried it and thought I would share my review with you all you lucky people out there : )
So, it’s really easy to use. The first few times of using it is a little tricky to get it to fit right, but after you figure it out it’s really easy.
And the specifics of it are you have to clean it with mild soap twice a day and boil it after the cycle is done. It’s really light weight and comes with it’s own little pouch and pin (cause we all know you’ll want to wear that around proudly ; )…………)
So I know a couple of you were considering getting it for the race so my suggestion would be to definitely try it before we leave so you can see if it is something you would be comfortable wearing, I personally am going to be taking it because it will be a huge save on weight, space, and money rather then getting enough tampons for a year. And plus side it’s better for the environment.
On the website for it, it even has a section under FAQ telling you how to properly use it while traveling in underdeveloped countries. So for those of you brave enough to try this, it is definitely something I would suggest.
So, I hope this was helpful to some of you, and not completely awkward. : )
Love you all!
