Hello π We are now at our 2nd ministry site here in Ghana and are with Pastor Joseph until the 31st. God is once again getting me out of my comfort zone and is showing me more and more what this race and life is all about- His love! I am finally seeing how it ALL comes back to love- what Jesus did on the cross, why I am on this race, why we are on this Earth- it all comes back to His love and how He wants an intimate relationship with us and will not relent until He has ALL of us- and that includes our love and hearts- even our identity in Him!
This week we have done a lot of sharing the gospel and Evangelism. We have gone into different neighborhoods and encouraged Christians, shared the gospel, and prayed for people. We have gone to pastor Joseph’s church and preached, DJ and Chelsea and I even sang a song (which is totally out of our comfort zone just so you all know π ), talked at a school about what God is doing in our lives and any words God gave us for these precious kids. We will be doing a youth service tonight and a prayer service tomorrow night. We are even getting to see an engagement here and the wedding the next day- so excited for that!!! I might even get to do children’s church on sunday π
As great as this ministry is, it is also heart breaking for me at the same time. Going into these neighborhoods we also encounter a lot of children who are malnourished and you can tell that they have some type of tape worm in their stomachs because their stomachs are HUGE and their bellybutton sticks straight out. Please be praying for these precious children! They are so beautiful and it breaks my heart to not be able to do anything- all I can do is pray. I am not going to lie- it does have me wondering why God lets these children be harmed and why these children are so malnourished, but I have to keep on standing on the truth of what I know- that God loves these children and they are so precious to Him. That He will provide for their needs and is watching over them. I can only see a small part of the picture- God sees it all. Please just be lifting these children in your prayers!
One of the highlights of my morning yesterday I wanted to share with you all π One of the last groups we were with yesterday were a bunch of fishermen and there was a little boy there as well. While DJ was sharing the gospel, me and this little boy were making funny faces at each other and funny smiles the whole time π He got closer and closer to me and by the end of DJ’s message he was holding my hand π God blessed me so much by being able to see this little boy and all I could do was pray for blessings for this boy in my head the whole time. It honestly still amazes me what a smile can do with these kids. Just seeing the smile on their faces melts my heart! Thank you all for your prayers and support- it means a lot!!!
