I am currently sitting at a picnic table at our hostel. It’s final debrief. For those of you who don’t know world race lingo that means it’s our last 4 days together with our mentor and coaches and squad leaders. We are talking about what the Lord has shown us, where we have grown and where God is taking us now. In other words the race is Done. ?. It’s raining and there are palm trees ?? everywhere I look. Reminds me of Florida.

I am at a place where I don’t even know what feeling to use to describe where I am at right now. I am feeling all the feels. that’s how it goes.

Sitting on my bunk this afternoon I was talking with a former teammate of mine and it started to sink in that the past 11 months did in fact happen.

How do you describe what all you have seen, heard, gained, lost, experienced? It’s really hard to do. I have enjoyed most of the moments of the last 11 months. There were some very hard days but the good outweighs those by far.

I am coming home to America. I know not only am I different but so is home. The people the places, everything. We all changed over the last year.

I will post a lot of blogs trying to do the race justice and put into words and just process the race. I am excited about what is next and how I can continue with what this year has taught me.

Please be patient with me as I want to and need to tell the stories, however, I also want to hear your stories. You have loved life just as much as I have. So please share with me as I share with you.

I am about 18 hours away from starting my last travel day!! We get on a bus to Joburg in the morning and catch our first flight out at 8pm tomorrow. It’s crazy to think that in 2 short/long days I will be home! Pray for safe travels for the squad and that we all make it home safely. We have a lot to be thankful for this year!
