It is time for a team change. I wanted to share a blog of our team memories from the last 4 months with my team. I got the privelge of starting the race and growing with these girls. They all hold a special place in my heart. It’s a long post but so worth the read! Also view the photo gallery to see some awesome photos of the team!

India:

Janet: One of my favorite memories from India is when we went to the Bay of Bengal. I got the opportunity to teach our translators Marty and Sam how to swim. Even as I look back on it, it makes me laugh. I will never forget the image of them belly flopping into the shore as a wave comes over them and taking two strokes and turning back to look at me and ask how that was.

Rachel: Being escorted to the bathroom everytime.

Klancy: When we went to the beach with Sam and Marty/our first village the first morning we heard a trumpet at 6am and Jordan asked: “is that a live trumpet”

Jordan: Trying to find our uber driver at 6am in a huge intersection in Hyderabad and getting bucked by a random goat on the side walk.

Abby: The morning we were stranded on the side of the road in Hyderabad and we had to find our transportation for the first time on our for the first time. and Jordan walked all up and down asking for ubers and got randomly bucked by a goat.

Meg: The freedom of being able to go out on our own and get our noses pierced together. Sharing our life maps becuase it was different everytime and it was a moment of utter vulnerablity. Each setting we shared in was different. Tuk Tuk, 1st village living room, getting eaten alive by mosquitos.

Nepal:

Janet: I would say that walking up the cave or the mountains while in the villages of Nepal. Being able to have people on the squad willing to walk with me at my speed and just have good conversations. I never walked with the same people. It was hard, but so worth it.

Rachel: getting hit in the face with a rock at the river by my squadmate Matthew.

Klancy: going to the mountains

Jordan: going on runs through the hills of the himilayas.

Abby: When we stopped being sick and out of the hospital. being a whole team in the mountains.

Meg: Trekking in the mountains and just being around half of the squad and getting to know them deeper.

Vietnam:

Janet: dancing in the rain with Rachel: it’s something I would have done at home. Shortly after, great convo with a Meg talking about the cross and crucifixion of Jesus, then saw a white dove which was awesome! Representation of the Holy Spirit

Rachel:
Bot- his dinosaur teeth, his little smile in the morning
Team mem- crossing the street from McDonalds, walking through the dirt and piles across 50 lanes of traffic. Nam Frogger!

Klancy:
Memories with the kids- sweet moments of them opening up.
Baby Hung- calm in a moment of holding her, forehead to forehead.
Xuca jumped on me and gave me a sincere hug and then wriggled away.
The boys and aggression- picking him up while he was so mad, held him in him anger and then he calmed down!
Bathing the kids- I get to bathe God’s children!
Team mems- Seeing beauty in the beast, water day at ministry and getting wet, Jordan trying to spray Klancy.

Jordan:
-birthday dinner with Minh and Blessing being in their element, Minh dancing to happy bday.
-good conversations with Ann
-beach weekend: fun bus rides, the best sleep of my life, we let loose and got to experience the beach together, so much laughter and a lot of fun

Abby-
-Sweet moments with Caro… Seeing the kids transform and relax as we loved them and as the teachers relaxed.
-great roommate time: movie night, snuggling
-meals with Minh and Blessing
-having a lot of fun this month beside a lot of growth.
-my birthday! Beauty and Beast, going to dinner, corn cake and green bean ice cream and American dinner, then Mui Ne the next weekend!

Meg-
The kids: the bonds formed with them, then getting excited to see you, big little jumping into my lap and singing with him
– made me want to be a mom!

Cambodia:

Janet: We have spent so much time together this month with not a lot of ministry…I would say my favorite would be a night where we had communion and washed our feet together. It was after Easter and it was a time where we were vulnerable with each other and able to speak life into each otehr. We felt the depth of each person on this team.

Rachel: when the streets flooded and trying to walk back from coffee shopin water that was up to our knees only to have my pants stain my legs with blue dye from the fabric.

Klancy: last day of English classes.

Jordan:spending time with the team by the pool and spontaneous dancing in the 100 degree room.

Abby: movie night watching the Goonies. Klancy getting scared when the storm slammed the door!!

Meg: All the laughs. Our team was our misinstry this month and the vulnerabitlity was deep this month. Our walls were broken down and it was the most real month we have had yet.
