It is supposed to rain today. Rain clouds are moving in. Maybe we should take the clothes off the line. If it rains I want to dance in the rain.
I see dark clouds start to roll in. I got excited. I heard a faint rumble. I smiled. I felt a drop. It was a while before the next drop came. Then out of no where the clouds opened up and poured. It was beautiful. The smell, the feel, afterwards.
After the first round of rain I was waiting for the power to come back on. I look over at my teammate Meg I can see she is staring off into a very deep thought. I slide on over and tell her a penny for her thoughts. She said I was just looking out and thought about how at home when we go on certain trips that have construction involved you have to wear jeans, shoes, gloves, hats, you know the whole nine yards, but here, its not like that, we can wear shorts, go barefoot, then my thoughts switched. I started to think about how it hurt to have hit my finger while hammering. Je5us had nails nailed through his hands and feet. I can only imagine how that would have felt. It hurt for me, but He got that after he carried his own cross up to the mountain, after he got whipped and beat.
Enter a white dove. It was the neatest thing. Seeing that dove fly in right where we were looking while having this conversation. I then had a thought.
I thought back to the time I was having trouble hiking up the mountains. If Je5us can carry his cross up in that state, then I can walk up the mountain. IT puts things into perspective.
The rain made me think about Florida during the summer and being at work lifeguarding. It was only 2pm but the storm rolled in fast and dumped and then it was great about 5 mins later. There were also palm trees in the background.
