Making Connections
When I was talking to a friend this week about how support raising was going she shared a story with me about her own fundraising. She said that people are willing to donate toward something that people are personally connected too; where passion gets translated to your audience. My audience is all those friends and family I consider dear.
Instead of complaining about why the money isn’t being raised. I’m going to connect my personal story to why I believe God has called me to the World Race.
First of all God has a point to prove; he wants the glory. It’s not about what I can do, but about proving himself faithful. So when I pray and seek his will he guides me along the right path.So God has led me here, because he loves me and his son’s death for me has freed me to speak truth and walk in light; to walk in the spirit. So I will go on this 11 month journey to hear his heartbeat for people all around the world, to see him minister through the rescued lives of others, to see him minister through my hands and feet.
So why do I want to go? Because I hear Him calling me-to something greater than I could have planned for my own life, something that requires sacrifice something not so easy or comfortable. And why would I subject myself so selflessly you may ask. Because A man over 2 thousands years ago; both divine and human sacrificed his life so that I could live in freedom for the one thing that he died for; to seek and save the lost. So for me this trip is already defined; I am going because I want to be part of Christ seeking and saving the lost across the Atlantic in the borders of Ugandan and Kenya on the Isles of New Zealand and the Continent of Australia, Asia, and Europe. I want to see Jesus in the eyes of believers in these places to see people go from darkness to light in these places. God hasn’t just called me to go, but he has said “why not now…why not you, and why not here…on the World Race!”
