Recently, the Lord has been teaching me alot through the book of Exodus, specifically through Moses’ life. Here are some nuggets I found this morning!

“But the more they were oppressed, the more they multiplied and the more they spread abroad.” (Exodus 1:12)

Even though this scripture is specifically talking about Israel, I feel like this also relates to modern day Christians. Today, all around the world, Christians are being persecuted, but the more they are oppressed, the more people come to Christ through their testimonies and the more Christianity spreads throughout the nations. This is why we need to be more bold in our faith because we never know who is watching us. We never know who will come to Christ as we proclaim the Gospel, not with our words, but with our lives.

“But Moses said to God, who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the children of Israel out of Egypt? He said, “But I will be with you, and this shall be the sign for you, that I have sent you…” (Exodus 3:11-12)

Just like Moses, sometimes we feel insecure about what the Lord is calling us to do and where. We feel like we need the Lord to confirm to us what He’s already asked us to do. The truth is, the only confirmation we need is that the Lord will be with us wherever we go.

and last but not least, my favorite nugget of all…

“Now the daughter of Pharaoh came down to bathe at the river, while her young women walked beside the river. She saw the basket among the reeds and sent her servant woman, and she took it. When she opened it, she saw the child, and behold, the baby was crying. She took pity on him said, “This is one of the Hebrew’s children.” Then his sister said to Pharaoh’s daughter, “Shall I go and call you a nurse from the Hebrew women to nurse the child for you?” And Pharaoh’s daughter said to her, “Take this child away and nurse him for me, and I will give you your wages.” So the woman took the child and nursed him. When the child grew older, she brough him to Pharaoh’s daughter, and he became her son. She named him Moses, “Because,” she said, “I drew him out of the water.” (Exodus 2:5-10)

Can you believe Moses wasn’t officially given a name until he was older? That means for the first few years of his life the only identifying factor about him was that he was a “Hebrews child.” The same goes for us. Not everyone you encounter is going to know or remember your name, but they will remember and recognize whose child you are, God’s or the enemies. This is so significant. Your name is not what makes you you, it’s whose child you are!

Hope you enjoyed these. Stay tuned for more!
