I have some exciting news! In my last blog post I mentioned how I wasn’t sure if I was going to get into the January 2016 route my heart is set on. I have been on the waitlist for a few weeks now, and then today I received the awesomest email ever! Before I tell you more, let’s go back to the events that led up to this moment…
A few weeks ago, after God laid it on my heart to defer, I was the epitome of bummed. I was no longer launching with my squad, the squad who had quickly become my 2nd family and would be my home away from home.
Rewind to October of 2014 when I first applied to the race. I remember wanting to go on a route that went to South America, Africa and specifically the Philippines (I have always wanted to serve there, ask any of my closest friends), but I thought to myself, I’m being way to specific with what I want and instead I just let myself be open to the route of God’s choosing.
Long story short, after making the decision to stay until January, I started looking through all the January routes and low and behold there was one that went to South America, Africa and the Philippines!! However, the route was full and so I was put on the waitlist…
In anticipation, I emailed my mobilizer and asked her what are the chances I’ll get to be put off the waitlist and officially on January route 4. She said I don’t want to make any promises because things are subject to change, however, there is a good chance. I held onto that bit of hope and began to pray boldly. God if you want be to be on this route please open that door.
However, weeks passed and I was still on the waitlist…
I felt stuck because I wanted to send out new support letters to tell my supporters about the new countries I would be going to, but I couldn’t do that yet since nothing was set in stone. Something told me to take a leap of faith anyway and send out those letters declaring that those countries would be the ones I would be going to. I am telling you, in exactly 3 MINUTES after sending my mom an email to print out my new support letters with my new potential countries, I received an email from my mobilizer telling me I was off the waitlist and officially on January route 4!
Guys I could not be more excited about this route and I can’t wait to meet my new squad, D squad in a few weeks at training camp (yes I have to do training camp again, but that’s a blog for another day haha)!
Here are the list of new countries I will be going to and I can’t wait to see what God has in store in these places:
Mozambique, Malawi, Zambia, the Philippines, Thailand, Cambodia, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Chile, Argentina
I want to encourage you today to be bold with your prayers! It doesn’t matter how specific they are. Declare those dreams into existence and if it’s in God’s will, He will open those doors for you when the time is right!
