LOOK WHAT YOU DID!


In the Phillipines, you discipled juveniles in prison, planted grass on the soccer field at the orphanage, painted murals, stayed up all night taking care of the babies, got the kids up and tucked them in, built drainage systems and stairs, worshipped all night breaking curses over the land, took the coldest shower ever, swam under a beautiful waterfall with your team, you took the kids swimming, you loved on teenage gang members, hung out with college students, and spoke adoption and worth into the children, you got lice from all the times you let the kids play with your hair.

In Cambodia, you taught english, computer skills, and the Bible to high schoolers, played games with them on the weekend, talked to the many backpackers passing through, cried at the pain you felt when the street kids grabbing you wouldn’t let go, confronted mindsets and fiercly fought for justice, bought street kids food and clothing in Siem Reip.

In Malaysia, you prayed over persecuted believers, cut out paper hearts and painted a mural with troubled youth for a fundraiser, got whacked by the spirit and challenged hardcore through an asian woman named Janet, spent the month with the ladies on your squad, visited a burmese refugee school, taught students songs about Jesus, you perfected the squattie, volunteered at an International Food festival, visited the elderly and sang them songs, and stood in front of brothels praying for restoration and healing in the red light district

In Thailand, you interceeded for hours every night for bangla road and the people that fill it, you showed the women stuck in prostitution how much they are loved and wanted and pure, you confronted demons and breathed life onto dry bones, you poured out grace for men buying the women-even when you didnt want to, you cried after your favorite friend was sold the last night out and you didn’t get to say goodbye, you were the brightest light in the darkest place, you filled the streets with worship in a bar, you celebrated christmas with 150 other people and learned how beautiful community is, you flashed mob a mall and modeled on a catwalk, you told a muslim man jesus loves him and saw his eyes change, you forever impacted a man named brett, terry, dennis….a woman named ice, ja, star….

In Rwanda, you let widows cry on your shoulder as you told them they aren’t alone, you preached and preached and preached some more, you learned forgiveness as you stood on the sites of the rwandan genocide, you visited house after house sharing a prophetic word and telling them about Jesus, you prayed healing over victims of the genocide, you danced at church- in the streets- in your home….you danced everywhere, you showed love without an agenda and confronted religion.

In Kenya, you painted school buildings, you prayed for a lame woman who now walks, you saw several people healed of malaria, you sat with the poorest of the poor in the slums, you risked disease and personal safety to show them love and to tell them of a God who is here with us, you danced some more, you endured sleeping with roaches and getting sick, you met and swapped stories with backpackers, you filled the hostel with worship music and encouraged the staff, and you walked and walked and walked some more.

In Tanzania, you preached some more, you endured no water and long bus rides, you were robbed and almost kidnapped yet sill praised God, you worked with Neema crafts providing jobs for the disabled, you survived three months of african belly sickness, you preached at a market and saw people healed, you casted out demons, you went to the bush and survived and thrived, you grieved 8 squadmates going home, you sat on the beautiful beaches of zanzibar prophesying over a fisherman.

In Nepal, you gave buddhist monks in the mountains their first Bible, you prayed with a Buddhist monk-his first time ever praying to Jesus, you preached, you sang, you had incredible times laughing with your host family, you caught typhiod from drinking juice with the monks, you went to your high school friends street concert, you hiked all the time, you prayed on top of a mountain with other believers, you gave money to a Christian woman in a muslim village whose house burned down, you encouraged backpackers, and you absolutely loved and laughed with the street kids.

In India, you stayed up all night feeding a little 2 yr. old dwarf through a feeding tube, played doctor by giving medication and putting in catheters, you became a human jungle gym at the orphanage, you were so broken and exhausted and had nothing left, you found love amidst your brokeness, you prayed for hours over the children- speaking destiny and adoption over them, you prayed over a paralyzed baby and saw his toes wiggle, you picked out lice from their hair, you wiped up their poop, you changed their beds, you gave them water when they were thirsty, you scrubbed squatties with your hands, you painted more murals, you layed on the orphanage roof overwhelmed and angry at how much need there is, you survived the hottest month of India.

In Romania, you encouraged fellow missionaries- praying, serving and loving them, you became best friends and family to people who spoke another language, you went on an outreach to Bulgaria and encouraged college students, you baked cookies and played pranks on your ‘brothers’, you held the hand of overwhelmed moms, you gave food to those who had none, you played for hours with the gypsy neighbors, you weeded widows gardens, and you had the time of your life throwing dirt clumps and laughing with your friends.

In Ukraine, you held abused and neglected children, you persisted until the angry ones became your closest ally, you wiped their tears when they said goodbye, you held them when their nightmares woke them up, you gave them a chance to be real kids, you gave them safety and shelter from their abusive homes, you and your friends held a week of unbroken prayer and saw miracles, you saw the worst lice epidemic ever and handled it like a pro, you went swimming and got dunked by your favorite kids, you became friends with aussies and dutchies, you babysat the missionaries kids and loved it, you laughed at the language barrier and learned kisses and hugs are universal, you visited the homes of the abusive kids and learned the power of love, you had midnight snacks with the other workers, you had water balloon fights with the kids and got drenched, your team layed on your bed and cried at the massive amount of goodbyes we have had to say, you had to say goodbye to the 30 people that became your family, you gave it your all at the end…you finished well.

God has completely rocked my world and opened my eyes to just how big and awesome he really is. The amount of love I have seen from him has left me speechless. I struggle to find the words to how big our God is and how much he loves us!

 

Thank you for coming with me on this journey. It has forever changed my life, and I will never forget all the love, support, emails, blog comments, and skype calls throughout the year. You guys kept me going when I wanted to give up. You laughed, cried, celebrated, prayed, and loved with me. You have blessed me beyond what I could’ve ever imagined, and I will always appreciate you.
