NEPAL IS AMAZING!
To say Nepal is my favorite country on the race so far is an understatement. I really love it here. It's one of those places where you walk off the plane and you instantly fall in love with. I feel like I could make my home here! The people are friendly and welcoming, the mountains are breathtaking, and the food is cheap! (always a plus on the race)
This blog is mostly photo's because they can do a better job of describing what it's like here than I can!

Even though I have really enjoyed it here, I am also saddened by the amount of idol worship that goes on here. In the past week there has been a special festival going on where the Hindus openly welcome their god’s into their houses. It’s a festival the enemy delights in, but that’s why we’re here…to spoil his party!

Something that has really challenged me here in Nepal, is seeing the dedication of the believers…especially up in the mountains. It has amazed me. I was convicted on Saturday when I noticed that the same believers that we had worshipped with up in a little mountain village the day before had made the trek to be at church in town just because they are hungry for the Word and fellowship with other believers. And we complain when we have to drive 45 minutes to an hour (in an air conditioned or heated car) to get to a church.
If we would have to hike several hours for church on a Sunday morning, I wonder how many of us would even go to church!

Another highlight for me here in Nepal, is their rooftops. Yea that’s right…rooftops! I have sat, laid, and slept on rooftops for hours gazing up into the heavens and watching God put on a light show with falling meteors…and I was amazed by the glory of Him. God is so big and his greatness so unfathomable, that He measures the universe in the span of his hand!
I have played guitar and worshipped my heart out for hours on these rooftops, but it makes me feel even smaller…it brings me to my knees more than ever. Just last night as the sun settled down behind the mountains, I could see in the distance the grand, snow covered peaks of the Himalayas glowing orange because of the sun still hitting them…and I was amazed! It took my breath away.

As squad leaders, we met to pray every morning on a rooftop in a tiny mountain village in northern Nepal. As we prayed and poured our hearts out to God, we could see the sun coming up over the mountains, hear the sound of the wild river just below us, and feel the chill of the cool mountain air…I was once again amazed!

These next few photos are from a two hour hike up to a mountain village where we worshipped about twenty believers.

This was at another church service!
IT'S NOT ABOUT ME…IT'S ALL ABOUT HIM!
