Expecations of My Mission Trip

We were asked to write a blog about how we felt before leaving for this trip… here are my expectations for the World Race…

 

This year will radicalize my life, and change me in ways I have
never thought possible before.  I will be leaving behind expectations,
family, friends, comfortable American society, and ease of life in the
states to be like Christ and help change the world.

 

I expect to be broken

I expect to have my eyes opened

I expect to be pushed over my comfort zone

I expect that God will have no limitations on His love

I expect it to be really really hard to be away from the people I love

I expect to be encouraged

I expect to have a greater understand of life

I expect to reach deep levels with people I meet

I expect to love God and people with reckless abandon

I expect to see so much beauty in the world

I expect to do things I don’t want to do

I expect that I will have to completely rely on the Lord for everything

I expect to learn more about community

 and I expect that I really have no idea what to expect!
