I remember packing for the race. Looking back, I wish I would have read more blogs and taken the advice of Racers who were on the field. I could have saved so much money. Money that could have gone towards my support account or money for personal expenses throughout The Race but I didn’t! So I’m writing a blog series that will hopefully help YOU – A FUTURE RACER! (Check out my previous blog and it will make a lot more sense.)
It's true! You can look and dress like yourself, while still on the Race.

Barely able to hold my pack at training camp but SO READY for 11 months!

If you’ve been on The Race, you’re all too familiar with the “free pile”, where Racers ditch items at the end of each month.
Future Racers: BE CAUTIOUS!
This pile will trick you into thinking you need three more shirts, another thing of body wash, batteries, another bowl, and a hammock.
Why not? It’s free.
FALSE.
Unless you NEED something, DO NOT take from the free table.
It just adds weight to your bag.
RULE #1: Make a RULE for yourself – If you add something to your bag, you have to take something out.
