For a long time, I was worried of what being a Christian would say about me.
If a person identifies themselves with anything, usually a stereotype comes along with it. If you like partying, you’re a messy drunk. If you like to dress and look nice, you care too much. If you don’t, you care too little. If you ride your bike everywhere, you probably also eat vegan. Whether we want to be identified by a stereotype, we all are.
If you’re a Christian you can’t drink or smoke. You can’t wear skirts above your knees. You can’t date. You can’t throw out cuss words. You’ll for sure preach on every corner and you’ll resemble Many Moore’s character on A Walk to Remember. Right?

Wrong. My walk with God is different than your walk with God and even though He continues to change my character for the better, He doesn’t want us to lose or change our personalities.
On Tuesday, October 23, 2012, I was baptized by Louis (the host at our ministry site), signifying that the “old me” died and was replaced by the “new me”.

So, who’s the new me? Totally dependent on God. Faithful. King’s kid. Anointed. Unashamed. Bold. A lover. Daughter. Feminine. Sensitive. Beautiful. Shining. Happy. Fun. Joyful. Bright. Pure. White as snow. Worthy. A masterpiece. Delicate. Talented. Successful. Patient.
I’m proclaiming today, that I am NOT ashamed that I love and choose Jesus!
