It is finally here….I'm in Washington D.C well technically Sterling, VA I met up with my squad and my team and we have pretty much taken over the Holiday Inn. The only thing I can compare it to is everyone moving back into the dorms after Christmas break or a summer apart everyone is a hallway hugging and excited to see each other. It seems like yesterday I was hearing about the World Race and now I'm here and instead of feeling intense nerves like I expected I'm just excited to see and be will everyone and so ready for whatever God has for me this year. The only hard part were the goodbyes starting with my "neice" Addy on Sunday well as much as you can say goodbye to a 7 month old. Then random friends and then with my parents at home where we prayed as a family they then gave me a hug told me they loved me and said goodbye. I then loaded my stuff in my best friends car(where I got my chocolate stash curtesy of Chelsea) and headed to SFO for the last time until December. We got to the airport in no time checked my bag which only weighted 47.5 pounds (I was pretty impressed with myself) we headed to Starbucks where we had our last coffee together(well her coffee me tea) and then headed to the security checkpoint where she gave me a hug told me I was going to do great things and that she loved me and left. I didn't shed a tear which shocked me.
Throughout my life I have had few times of real peace where I felt I was doing exactly what I should be doing but God has called me here and I couldn't feel more content. I'm so excited for this journey and what God is going to do in and through me and all of my squadmates.
Here are a few pictures on my last day with everyone!!!!
