Well, as I was reminded by a teammate during a random phone chat, it has been exactly 1 (one) year since my adventure on the World Race came to an end. Wow. Really? 365 days since I parted from the W squad in LAX.

The past year, what has happened? Definitely nothing comparable to traveling to and serving in 11 different countries and ministries.

Though it may come close.

I came home from the Race fairly confident of where God was leading this next season of my life.  I spent the summer traveling, visiting friends and family and enjoying time back in America readjusting to this life.

Community was a main goal when I got back and so finding a church with a younger population was on my priority list and thankful to other World Race alumni, that was accomplished in like 3 weeks. New Denver church is great and I recommend it to anyone in the Denver area!

When August came around, I took a Nursing Assistant class in order to become a C.N.A (certified nursing assistant) and be one step closer of my dream of being a nurse. I took the class. Passed the exam. Became certified. Job search resulted in nothing.

At the same time I was in the process of applying for nursing school. Application. Check. Interview. Check. Acceptance. Rejection.

Well what now? No job. No school.

It was then I received the offer of leading a Passport trip through Adventures in Missions. I was kind of in the ‘Why not?’ mindset and went ahead and filled out the application on December 15, 2012. Received a call on December 18, letting me know I have been accepted as a leader and I will be heading to Central America for 4 months. I need to be in Georgia on January 11.  In less than a month. Okay.

Thanks to the Lord above everything came together and it was all set and I was in Gainesville on January 11, 2013. I meet my co-leader. A couple of days later I meet my team. The people I will be spending the next 4 months with. Let me tell you, they are a pretty great group of people!

Leading Passport was an incredible opportunity. Strengthening leadership qualities. Practicing Spanish. Discipleship. Serving God and His people.

Now I’m home again. Another re-entry which was more difficult than the first believe it or not and again on the same path of pursuing nursing school.

I’m praying and believing it’s really God’s timing now, but whatever happens, I trust Him and His will for my life knowing that whatever He leads me to will result in a life lesson and a way to encourage and grow my faith in Him.

Though nothing may be comparable to my 330 some odd days on the Race, each 365 is a gift from God and I am excited to see what happens in the next year after seeing what God has done in the past two!
