Month 7 in Chamba, Mozambique at Kedesh Sanctuario has by far been my favorite month on the Race.

The ministry, the downtime, the growth. Every aspect has been great. (Maybe except for getting a putsi fly in my backside). Am I sad to leave? Of course! Am I content with leaving? Not so much but I know this month has been worth it. The time I was able to invest in the boys. The time I was able to invest in my relationship with God. The time I was able to invest in others on the squad and my team. It was all worth it.

To be at Kedesh this month has taught me a lot. It has taught me a lot about patience (while teaching reading/ writing), about sportsmanship (not getting upset when my volleyball team loses), about individual growth (being challenged in Bible study and discussions), the importance of accountability and responsibility (watching the boys and their chores and when they get in trouble), the joy of being a kid (sports, trees, the ocean), loving and seeing people as God does (not judging based on interactions or the past)  and just making the most of each day and moment because you never know when it will be gone.

I remember at training camp, we did a prophecy exercise. The Squad Leader for X Squad (the other July 2011 squad) prophesied over me the word: Africa. At first I thought she was crazy because my previous experience in Africa (Botswana) was not that great and I had no real desire to return. But look at how God made me throw out my expectations and has changed my heart to absolutely loving this place.

The memories made here are ones I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I will never forget Mozambique.
I will never forget Kedesh.
I will never forget these boys.
