Yesterday afternoon, Steven and I, went to get some papas rellenas. While we were sitting and enjoying our amazingly fried goodness… we started talking and with Steven knowing this is my 4th time to Peru, he asked me:
“How does this time in Peru compare to the previous ones?”
Good Question Steven
Well…
My first trip was all about ‘Evangelism’. Going to the market or to houses every day. Performing dramas. Sharing testimonies and sharing the gospel message in front of groups. The second trip was working in an orphanage. The third was a medical trip where we set up clinics. And now this time… is like none of the previous ones. Which I am happy about.
What I have seen this trip is Peru in all its glory. Eating at a Menu everyday has helped me to taste even more of Peru’s amazing food. Working directly with Peruvians has helped me to get to know them and see their heart for the ministry. Speaking more Spanish has allowed me to more easily communicate and deeper relations with those I come into contact with. I have also seen the not so good side of Peru. The crime and the violence are not something I wish to have learned, but it is a fact of life that I can’t avoid.
I have loved this time in Peru. The ministry and the experience has been amazing and of course I am falling in love with Peru all over again. Physical contrsuction is not something I do alot. (normally not alot but it seems to be a trend here on the race). Being in both our first ministry site and even changing to the beach has been wonderful and time worth while.
My time in Peru has been great. Personally, too short if you ask me. But I can’t spend all my time in Peru. The Lord has given me time here for now, but I know it is time to move on and see the rest of the world. Starting with Bolivia. But lessons and memories from Peru will stay with me always.
Okay I tried to do a concluding blog. But now I just brought up for questions and processing for me to go through. Great… hahaha. Possibly more blogs will be on the way.
