It was a normal day of ministry. My team and I decided to go out to lunch with Emily for her birthday! We then decided to get some ice and walk 20 minutes to an ATM. It was there next to the ATM that we met the owner of a clothing store named Earl. At first, he stood back from a distance glaring at us and motioning for me to come into his store. I smiled at him and stood with my team as they got some cash. He then began speaking to us. “I’ve seen you before,” he told two of our girls. “You walked by yesterday.” “You’re Christians?” Earl asked. ” Can you pray for me?” How can we pray for you? We asked. “You can pray that I’m able to stop doing bad things!”Earl said. That started a conversation about Jesus and how he gave up his life for earl. ” I don’t like dead people.” If you tell me he’s dead, I’ll walk away” earl said! “He’s not dead, he’s alive!”We told him That’s what Easter is all about! After sharing the truth about Jesus with earl, his eyes lit up. “How do you feel about that earl?” One of the girls asked. “Good!” Earl said.
One of my teammates shared her testimony with him and told him that there was nothing she could do to clean her self up, but Jesus did that for her. I saw his heart continue to soften even more. I asked earl if he would like to say a prayer to invite Jesus into his life and he said yes. It was there in the front of a clothing store that we got a new brother in Christ.
Easter is this weekend and I never want to forget that there is good news that needs to be shared with people who are looking for love that only Jesus can give them.
I want my life to be interruptible for the gospel!
