As our time in Africa comes to a close, I have compiled a short list of things I have learned during my stay on the continent. I hope these insight prove useful.
-Live chickens are acceptable gifts
-If your host tells you to take a bath, you take a bath.
-Sleeping pads are not meant to be slept on every day for 6 months in a row.
-Yes, the water does get colder.
-Knock before you open the bathroom door.
-Check the bathroom for other people before you start to go.
-If cat-scratch fever is anything like tick-bite fever, I want no part of it.
-Having a barbeque? Use that spare impala carcass you have lying around to whip up some tasty kabobs.
– There’s always room for one more person.
-I lived next to Zebras.
-That last one was more of a comment than something I learned, but I wanted to share it.
-Jesus in alive and well and working wonders through the continent. Pray for the church leaders here, they need spiritual support.
Thailand is coming up next. It looks like guys and girls will be separate for ministry opportunities. As always, continued prayer is always welcome.
