Hello!
My name is James H. Pittman III, named after my father, and his father before him! I was born in Baltimore, Maryland, and moved all over before my family finally settled in Tallahassee, Florida. Since I’ve lived here since I was ten years old, I consider it my home town.
I grew up in Pentecostal and Baptist churches here, with my family, and I’ve learned that life here on earth is short and temporary, but meaningful and important. Each and every person has a calling on their life to live for the lord, and being close to God and listening carefully to his instructions are pivotal to a happy, blessed life. But we don’t always know what God’s plan is, and sometimes it can be very different from what we expect – it certainly was for me. Me? A missionary? I couldn’t believe it.
But I recognized the feeling – the feeling of being led by God on a path. It was scary, but not stressful. Exciting, but not overwhelming. It seemed crazy, yet perfect at the same time. It was the same feeling I had when I was led to go into law enforcement seven years ago. It seemed so odd to people that I wanted to be a police officer. At the time all I did was play music and edit videos for my church, it was a complete curve ball that I was led to law enforcement. But it was God’s plan, and as such, it was absolutely blessed. I’ve had an incredible time in my job, making a difference anywhere I can, and having a blast doing it. I’ve climbed the ranks, been hired to larger agencies, and I currently have one of the best jobs in the business!
Then, quite unexpectedly, God pointed me in a different direction. He wants me to give up everything I have – and live totally as a servant to him, sharing the gospel internationally. It’s been kinda scary.
Growing up here in Tallahassee I’ve done so much, and learned so much – it’s incredible to think about. I owe so much to all the people in my life who have taught me and guided me to this point. But I look at this moment as the beginning of a journey with God – one modern technology gives you the ability to join me on! Please, subscribe!
