Over the course of 11 months you learn a lot of things. One of the biggest areas you become pretty knowledgeable in is travel. For the all of the future racers out there I thought I would throw together a few pointers from my own experience to make your experience a little easier. Keep in mind that these are my own ideas and not the definitive guide to world travel.

1. Pack only dri-fit clothes.

2. Bring a tent or hammock but not both.

3. Learn everything that you can about the country you're in.

4. Be vulnerable with your squadmates from the beginning.

5. Get to know everything about your contacts.

6. Bring a physical Bible, notepad and pen.

7. Take advantage of living in community…

8 …But be sure to make room for yourself.

9. Create a budget and stick to it.

10. Learn everything that you can about soccer.

11. Keep important stuff (i.e. passports, money, etc.) on you at all times.
